Welcome to the St Helena's Parish, Ellenbrook. Established in 1999, the Parish and St Helena's Catholic Primary School Community have worked together in close collaboration to carry on Jesus' Mission in the Church to the people of this new and picturesque region.

As a Parish, we strive to be a Christian community in which the spirit and presence of Jesus Christ is always present, Gospel values are evident in worship and life, and each person can grow individually and as a member of the Mystical Body of Christ.

Altar Servers:  children in Year 4 and over are provided some training and guidance to serve at Mass. Contact: Deacon Ivan 0439 919 585
 
Acolytes:  is a form of ministry for men to assist in the celebration of the Mass and various devotions.  Contact Peter Sundra 9296 2032      

Adoration Group: encourages quiet adoration and prayer before the exposed Blessed Sacrament. It runs for an hour on a monthly basis and concludes with Benediction when the clergy is available. No fixed duration is required, but persistence. Contact Valerie Sundra 9296 2032

Adult Faith Development: is a group that aims to provide ongoing programs of faith formation and development for adults.  Contact Noreen Clapp 92973343

After School Religious Program: offers catechesis program for children who do not attend Catholic Schools. Classes are held on Tuesdays, 3.45-4:45 pm at St Helena’s CPS. Contact Fr Francis or Deacon Ivan

Audio/Visual Group: to assist with the set-up of computer, operating the projector and CD/DVD players. Contact Fr Francis
 
Bulletin: to help with edition and publication of Parish Sunday Bulletin.

Children’s Liturgy: is held during 9.30am Mass each weekend other than the school holidays.  Children learn about the faith from volunteer Catechists. Adult helpers are always welcome.  Contact Corinne Derckx 9296 7469

Catechists: to assist with the teaching and passing on of the faith for adults or children. Hands-on learning or formal training sponsored by Parish is available.  It is a much needed ministry in our Parish. Contact Fr Francis

Church Cleaning/Set-up: volunteers are required to clean and set up the Mass area each Saturday morning from 8.30 am.  This includes putting out the chairs, preparing the sanctuary and arranging flowers etc.  Contact Judy Kerr 9296 7908

Counters: to count collection money after 9.30 am Mass on a roster basis. Contact Peter/Valerie Sundra 9296 2032.

Craft Circle: volunteers work during the year making various crafts and decorative objects as a means of fund-raising at Easter and Christmas.  It involves sewing, artwork and various craft skills.  Contact: Dyllis Etherington 9297 1392

Finance Committee: is a form of service for those whose financial management skills and expertises can contribute to the effective planning and operation of parish finance. Contact Alison Hayden 9296 9637

Fund Raising: various projects, for example, Christmas raffles and stalls are held throughout the year to raise funds for the Church. Contact Tammy Ashe 9297 6114

Home Visitation Team: to visit parishioners’ homes, especially those who are sick, bereaved, homebound, alone.

Linen Roster: takes care of the laundry of Church linens several times a year. Contact Judy Kerr 92967908

Liturgy Committee: meets at a certain time or on demand to plan and coordinate the celebration of good creative and uplifting liturgy. Contact Chairperson Helen Eusebio 9297 2730

Lectors: is a ministry for those who wish to assist in the proclamation of the Word of God. Training is available. Contact Liz Lambert 9297 3130                            
Meditation: The task is to bring all of the mobility and distractedness in the mind to stillness, silence and concentration ..into its proper place and gratefully appreciate the psalmist’s saying, ’Be still and know that I am God.’  The benefit of meditation is well proven and innumerable. Musicians & Choirs: play an important role in liturgical enhancement. Any musicians, singers or anyone who loves singing for the Lord is welcome to contact Jamie/Helen Eusebio 9297 2730 or Anita L’Enfant 9296 8631

Office Assistant/Archivist: to register and keep up to date parish records. This requires half an hour a week or fortnight. Contact Fr Francis

Parish Pastoral Council: is an advisory body to the parish priest. Councillors are co-opted by the PP or nominated and elected by the parishioners for a term of two years.  Council meetings are held monthly and parishioners are welcome to attend as visitors.  Contact: Chairperson Liz Lambert 9297 3130 or Secretary Alison Hayden 9296 9637

Planned Giving Program:  weekly financial commitment through an envelope system, that enables the Parish to meet its financial obligations and plan for the future. Your stewardship is necessary in spreading Christ’s message in the community.    Contact Peter Sundra 9296 2032

Prayer Group: meets monthly on the first Tuesday of the Month and pray the Rosary and sharing some inspirational or personal testimonies of the faith. Contact Peter Sundra 9296 2032

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA): is a process for preparing and welcoming new members into the Catholic Church. Committed Catholics would be welcome as sponsors. Contact Fr Francis.

Sacristan: to oversee and coordinate matters related to the preparation and celebration of liturgy, eg Altar bread, wine, linen, candle, chalice, vestments, albs, etc. Contact Fr Francis

Social Group:  To organise and coordinate social events that build fellowship and social support for parishioners.  Morning Tea, Wine and Cheese Night, Dinner for Eight, Parish Picnic, etc are some examples. Helpers are always welcome.  Contact Margaret Barton 9297 6119

Special Ministers of Holy Communion: is a ministry for men and women to assist with the distribution of Holy Communion when required. Training workshops are offered yearly. Contact Liz Lambert

Youth Group: is a parish group of the Young Christian Students Movement that provides a safe, fun, enriching Christian environment for youth from Year 7 to high school age. Meetings are held fortnightly from 5.00-6.30 pm on Sundays. Contact Jaz Cappeau 0400080908 or Krista Tanuwibawa 9297 3482
